Arizona · you choose the shop

Do I have to use the body shop my insurance company recommends?

No. In Arizona you pick the shop, and the insurer pays the covered repair either way. Best Deal happens to be a preferred repair partner for the insurers we work with, so choosing us is easy, but it is still your choice.

What a recommended shop is

When a claims rep says they have a preferred shop near you, they mean a Direct Repair Program shop, usually called a DRP. It is a shop the insurer has approved and set up to work with directly. Best Deal is a preferred repair partner for the insurers listed on our Insurance Partners page, so when your insurer recommends a shop, we are often one of the names on the list.

What that means for you

Because we are set up with your insurer, the claim usually moves faster. Estimates, photos and supplements go straight to them. You do not carry paperwork between us. Our written warranty and our deductible assistance of up to $1,000 on qualifying repairs are ours, and they apply on every claim.

What the law says

In Arizona an insurer may recommend a repair shop. It may not require one, and it may not refuse to pay a covered claim because you chose another shop. That is your right, and it applies whether you pick us or someone else.

If you are told you must use a certain shop

Politely say you have chosen your own shop, name it, and give the number. The rep notes it and the claim goes on. If you choose Best Deal, tell them the car is going to Best Deal Auto Body Shop, 5511 N 51st Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301.

Your rights in Arizona

  1. You choose the shopIn Arizona the insurer can recommend a repair facility; it cannot require one or refuse to pay a covered claim because you went elsewhere.
  2. You're owed a proper repairThe policy pays to restore the car to pre-loss condition. Which parts and procedures that means is decided by the repair plan and the estimate, not by which shop is cheaper for the insurer.
  3. You can see the numbersAsk any shop for the itemized estimate and the supplement. Ask the insurer for the adjuster's estimate. They should match the car, not each other.
  4. Your deductible is the same anywhereGoing to a non-network shop does not raise your deductible. What changes is who advocates for you when the first number is low.

Best Deal is an owner-run shop and a preferred repair partner of the insurers on our Insurance Partners page. You still choose where your car goes, and we repair it the same way either way.

Common questions

Is Best Deal a preferred or DRP shop?

Yes. Best Deal is a preferred repair partner of the insurance companies on our Insurance Partners page. Your insurer's app or claims line may or may not show us in its shop search, so if you do not see us, just ask for us by name.

Can the insurer refuse to pay if I use my own shop?

No. A covered claim is paid at the reasonable cost of repair regardless of which shop does it. If the shop's estimate is higher than the adjuster's, the shop documents the difference and submits a supplement.

Will I owe the difference between the shop's price and the insurance payment?

Not on a covered repair done to a documented estimate. The difference is settled between the shop and the insurer through the supplement process. You can owe more only for upgrades the policy does not cover, and we tell you that in writing before starting.

Does it cost more to use a preferred shop?

No. Your deductible is the same anywhere, and with us up to $1,000 of it may be waived on qualifying repairs.

Send a few photos. We'll take it from there.

Upload pictures of the damage for a preliminary price range, or call and talk to someone at the shop.
